Keep your hair hydrated and healthy in winter by following tips

1) Give hair extra care and love during these months:

To keep your hair hydrated use of conditioner is really important, there are so many ways to keep your hair moisturized such as using lightweight balancing conditioner that can work as a leave-in after showering, shampooing your hair, then apply the conditioner from the mid-length to the hair ends it will prevent the ends from dryness and split ends, leave the conditioner on for few minutes and then wash with normal water.

2) Avoid Frequent Hair Washes

Natural oils will be stripped off if you frequently wash your hair with shampoo, it will cause you further dryness and irritation. Extend your time for washes. Try to use a mild shampoo or sulfate-free shampoo and do not wash your hair more than twice a week.

3) Avoid Heat Styling Tools

Hair can be broken by using heat styling tools as hair become delicate during winter. Try to air-dry your hair and embrace your natural texture. Moisture can be drawn out because of the blow dryer so avoid blow drying during winter.

4) Don’t Step Out with Wet Hair

Before you step out in the sun always dry your hair. Hair can become broken as cold air expands the hair shafts, and it can also cause color fading. Try to modify your hair care routine in winter and give your hair some extra time.

5) Apply A Deep Conditioning Hair Mask Weekly

Ingredients like honey and egg can work as a moisturizing and nourishing. Hair mask once in a week is an excellent preventive measure to ensure your overall hair health. The honey and egg are moisturizing ingredients and they moisturize dry locks, soften the hair, add shine and enhance hair growth. Water soluble peptides in egg yolk can stimulate the hair growth and also condition them as well. Amino acid and vitamins are rich in honey and use to condition hair. For overnight hydration you can use hair oil or hair serum.

6) Moisturize Your Scalp with Hair Oil

Due to the lack of moisture during winter your scalp gets dry and itchy, so dandruff, scalp irritation, and flakiness and also hair fall occur. Coconut and olive oils will do wonders if we use oil after warm it up. These oils penetrate the hair shaft and keep the hair moisturized. Hair follicles become nourish, hair growth will be stimulated, and blood circulation will be improved by oil massage.

7) Cover Your Hair

Keep your hair cover with hat or scarf. The cold, dry windy and snow will stressed your hair if exposed to these environment. Friction from the cotton and woolen materials can be prevented with the silk or satin cloth lined inside your hat. You can also use a dry oil spray to fight static and tame flyaways.

8) Avoid Hot Showers

Hot shower can remove the natural oils and making it dry by removing the moisture from your hair, hot shower in freezing weather is always tempting. Hot water can cause flakiness and make your scalp dry. To assist seal the hair cuticles, always wash your hair with lukewarm water and give it a cold water blast at the ends.

9) Eat Healthy to Keep Your Hair Healthy

Balanced diet would be more use full which includes omega fatty acid, leafy greens, meat dairy products and vegetables. Protein rich foods are beneficial for hair health. Vitamin rich foods like berries, eggs, carrots and pumpkins are essential for hair health.
